New Addition: Dairy Farm

Another new addition to Farmville last night. Now you can store up to 20 cows in your dairy, and have it milk them for you. The dairy costs either 10,000 coins or 20 dollars, and takes one day to milk your cows. You can sell it for 500 coins, and you’ll get 100 XP when purchased.

Do note however, that when you put your cows in there, their completed level will all drop back to 0%, so it’s best to wait until right after you’ve collected their milk before throwing them in there.

Farmville makers Zynga also claim that more similar buildings will be coming soon!

Lost Animal: Baby Turtle

Great news Farmville fans, there has been another lost animal launched on your Facebook feed. Keep an eye out for a Baby Turtle appearing on your farm or on your neighbours’ updates, as they can wander on to your farm for you to adopt!

Like the rest of the Adopt-an-Animals, you’ll have to publish the news and then one of your neighbours can claim the Sad Lonely Turtle from you. Hopefully they’ll return the favour.

They take 3 days to collect/harvest, and yield 86 coins per collection. Not sure what they give off yet, maybe turtle eggs.

Ribbons: Flower Power Ribbon added

To coincide with the addition of all these flowers (see previous post), Farmville makers Zynga have added a new ribbon to give you further incentive to plant and harvest all those flowers. I’m not sure what exactly you need to do to get the higher coloured ribbons yet, but when I know, I’ll post it here.

Flower Power Ribbon

Flower Power Ribbon

For now, to get the yellow ribbon, you’ll need to harvest 30 flowers. If you’ve already harvested sunflowers, you’ll have to start again from 0. Previous harvests don’t count towards the ribbon.

New Addition: Flowers

Sunflowers were the only flowers you could buy in Farmville on Facebook, but now there is a whole host of Flowers at the market.

Daffodils

Cheat: Harvest and Collect Faster

By now everyone probably knows this little cheat. It’s simple enough, but will save you plenty of time when you run out of Farmville fuel. As you may have seen, your farmer cannot climb over anything, so you can use this to exploit a weakness in the game, which means you do not have to walk around the farm going to each individual plot – thus allowing you more time to spend stalking people on Facebook!

All you need to do is find out where your farmer starts when you load the game – a simple way is to visit someone else’s farm and then return to your own. Then put bales all around this area, like the picture below. If you start among your animals like I do, you can fence them into a nice little square, using the Whitewash Fences.

Harvest Faster

Harvest Faster

Voila, you’re done. Now you won’t spend ages walking from plot to plot while harvesting.

Item Info: Mystery Box Gifts

By now, you may have tried to purchase one of the new Mystery Gift Boxes on Farmville. However, you may not know exactly what you’re getting for that hard-earned fifteen dollars. Well, I’m here to help.

New Addition: Mystery Boxes

Today (October 21st), Zynga, the creators of Facebook’s Farmville added another new feature to the Market.

Mystery Box

Mystery Box

Mystery Boxes can be bought for $15, and contain items that cannot be purchased or received through any other means. Unfortunately, all these items are decorative i.e. there’s no special animal or tree that can be harvested.

After buying the Mystery Box, you can choose to either leave it as is – a decoration in itself – or open it to find the goodies within.

Here’s a list of the known Mystery Box gifts so far:

  • red bicycle
  • striped rest chair
  • lounge chair
  • picnic table with tablecloth
  • fire pit
  • tree with swing
  • hot tub
  • golden gnome

If you see or find any other Mystery Gifts, please comment and we’ll add them to the list.
